BAUHAUS-KOLLEKTION VON COS

Die Fotos entstanden vor dem Londoner Isokon Building des Architekten Wells Coates vom Anfang der 1930er-Jahre. • The photos were taken in front of the Isokon Building in London by architect Wells Coates from the early 1930s.

B auhaus und kein Ende! Das große Jubiläumsjahr war schon fast vorbei, da hängte
COS zum Spätherbst noch schnell seine „inspired by Bauhaus“-Kollektion als limi-
tierte Capsule Edition in die Schaufenster. Obwohl COS eigentlich kein Bauhaus-Jahr
braucht, um besonders Architekten-kompatible Kleidung zu machen, war die neue Kol-
lektion natürlich ein willkommener Anlass für einen als Dienstgang getarnten Shopping-
ausflug. Die 13 Teile konnten dann auch vollends überzeugen! Selbst die Schürze für den
Herrn, anfangs noch etwas skeptisch beäugt, machte sich spätestens beim Tranchieren
der Weihnachtsgans bezahlt. Hier sicherte sie, wenn auch nicht dem heiklen Vorgang an
sich, so doch ihrem Träger einen letzten Rest von Form, Anstand und Würde. ub
B auhaus and no end to it! The great anniversary year was almost over when COS
displayed its inspired by Bauhaus collection as a limited capsule edition in the
shop windows in late autumn. Although COS doesn't really need a Bauhaus year to
design clothes that are particularly suited for architects, the new collection was, of
course, a welcome occasion for a shopping outing under the guise of a business matter.
The thirteen pieces of clothing were absolutely convincing! Even the apron for the
gentleman, at first viewed with a certain scepticism, proved its worth at the latest
when the Christmas goose had to be carved. Here it secured a last remnant of style,
decency and dignity for its wearer, even though not for the delicate process itself.
