The award winners of the International Newcomer Competition “TILE AWARD” have been determined
Hamburg, 17th of April 2014 – The “Tile Award” has been initiated by ceramic tiles specialist in architecture AGROB BUCHTAL in collaboration with AIT/GKT for the third time. Young international architects and interior designers under the age of 35 had been invited to develop creative ideas with ceramic tiles.
The competition set the task to design an interior by using tiles in an innovative and creative way and thus point out the varied possibilities the material has to offer. The participants were free to submit one design concept each in the three categories LEARNING, LIVING and WELLNESS/SPA.
For the “TILE AWARD 2014”, the jury consisting of Manuelle Gautrand (Manuelle Gautrand Architecture, FR- Paris), Ushi Tamborriello (ushitamborriello Innenarchitektur & Szenenbild, CH- Rieden near Baden) and Günter Katherl (caramel architekten zt GmbH, AT- Vienna/Linz) selected the ten best designs from 45 entries from 17 countries.

The award winners are invited to join a workshop trip to South India from 15 to 20 May 2014, where they have the possibility to further develop their submitted concepts together with experts from AGROB BUCHTAL.
