V ielerorts werden ehemalige Industrieareale als stadtnahe Wohn- und Arbeits räume
wiederentdeckt – so auch in Hamburg. Studio Besau-Marguerre verwandelte dort für
das Online-Modeunternehmen About You ein Geschoss einer alten Industriehalle in ein
modernes Fotostudio. Das ebenfalls aus Hamburg stammende Designer-Duo ist seit 2011
selbstständig und entwarf bereits eine Möbelkollektion für die Elbphil har monie. Bei dem
2013 gegründeten und mittlerweile stark gewachsenen Modeunter nehmen About You ste-
hen Mode, Stoffe, gut geschnittene Kleidung und starke Farben im Vordergrund. Eben
diese Werte soll das Fotostudio About Shots reflektieren. Außer dem war es das Ziel, fle-
xible Räume zu schaffen, die Abgrenzung und Rückzugs mög lich keit in junger und frischer
Atmosphäre erlauben. Diesen Ansprüchen wurden Besau-Marguerre unter anderem mit
der Schaffung einer Lounge als zentralem Platz gerecht. Die eigens für das Objekt entwor-
fenen Raum trenner aus Stahl und Strukturglas bieten eine akustische Abgrenzung und
schaffen Nischen. Für eine flexible Abtrennung der Räume sorgen zudem edle Pol ster -
stoffe in Pastelltönen, die ebenfalls eine positive Auswirkung auf die Akustik haben. Der
dynamische, collageartige Mix bietet perfekte Voraussetzungen, um Ideen zu sammeln, zu
entspannen oder für kleinere Meetings. Für den experimentellen Umgang mit Farben und
Materialien wurde Eva Marguerre im März mit dem AIT-INsider Award ausgezeichnet!

I n many places, former industrial areas are being rediscovered as living- and working
spaces in close proximity to the city – as is also the case in Hamburg. For the About
You online fashion company, this is where Studio Besau-Marguerre turned one storey
of an old industrial building into a modern photo studio. The duo of designers, also
originally from Hamburg, has been freelancing since 2011 and already designed a fur-
niture collection for the Elbe Philharmonic Hall. In the About You fashion company,
founded in 2013 and having by now strongly grown, fashion, fabrics, well-tailored
clothing and strong colours are in the foreground. These are exactly the features which
are to be reflected in the About Shots photo studio. In addition, the goal was to design
flexible rooms which allow separation and privacy in a young and fresh atmosphere.
Besau-Marguerre met this challenge, among other ideas, by designing a lounge as the
central space. The room dividers of steel and structural glass specifically designed for
the object provide acoustic separation and produce niches. Flexible partition of the
rooms is furthermore ensured by upscale upholstery fabrics in pastel colours which
also have a positive effect on the acoustics. In March, Eva Marguerre was given the AIT
INsider Award for her experimental use of colours and materials!
