Rezkalla baute nicht nur das ringförmige Apple-Hauptgebäude, sondern jedes noch so kleine Nebengebäude auf dem Campus. • Rezkalla built not only the ring-shaped main building, but every little building on the campus.

L ego-Enthusiast Spencer Rezkalla nennt sein nach zwei Jahren fertiggestelltes Modell
des Apple-Headquarters in Cupertino liebevoll einen „Bodenkratzer“. Im Maßstab
1:650 besitzt allein die ringförmige Gebäudestruktur einen Durchmesser von 0,8 Metern.
Um den Bau des horizontalen Wolkenkratzers samt Campus überhaupt realisieren zu
können, studierte der Hobby-Baumeister verschiedene Luftaufnahmen und setzte unzäh-
lige Legosteine zu einem insgesamt 1,76 Quadratmeter großen und 35 Kilogramm schwe-
ren Modell zusammen. Das gewichtige Endergebnis ist durchaus eindrucksvoll. Bleibt
nur noch die Frage: Was macht mehr Spaß – Bauen mit Lego oder in der Realität? hs

A fter two years, the Lego enthusiast Spencer Rezkalla completed his model of the
Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California, and affectionately calls it a
“groundscraper”. On a scale of 1:650, the ring-shaped building structure alone has a
diameter of 0.8 metres. For being able to create the model of the horizontal high-rise
including the campus at all, the hobby builder studied various aerial pictures taken
by drones and assembled countless Lego blocks into a model measuring a total of
1.76 square metres and weighing 35 kilogrammes. The weighty end result is definitely
impressive. The question is: What's more fun - building with Lego or in reality?
