DESIGNAGENTUR
IN MÜNCHEN
Entwurf • Design Von M, Stuttgart
von • by Bettina Schürkamp
D esign think tank for a “human-shaped world”: Von M used a custom-made of-
fice concept to implement the vision of the Danish Designit innovation agency
for their subsidiary in Munich. For a healthy and liveable working environment, the
architects determined the needs of the users down to the last detail for the public
reception area, eight project rooms and 44 flexible workspaces. The open-plan room
concept with glazed project boxes represents the side by side of different ways of
working in a multidisciplinary team. The reception zone with a communal area,
meeting rooms and a kitchen is used for client appointments and as a break room.
In the project- and meeting rooms, translucent curtains separate public lectures and
confidential meetings. Cosy niches and an escape room offer diverse possibilities for
retreating. As a consistent design element, wall panels of grey-varnished birch with
an acoustically effective hole pattern connect like the reception area with the work-
spaces. In an abstract form, a second pattern with larger holes takes up the dot as a
striking element of the company logo. Images and boards are individually clipped
into these holes. With a monochrome grey background, the colour concept produces
an unobtrusive setting for the creative development of products.
