A ls Inspiration für den Cabinette Coworking Space diente der Filmklassiker Play-
time von Jaques Tati aus dem Jahr 1967, der damals auf humorvolle Weise Kritik
am Modernismus der Zeit übte. Filmfigur Monsieur Hulot – dargestellt von Tati selbst
– wandelt durch ein futuristisch anmutendes Paris und stößt dabei unter anderem auf
ein modernes Großraumbüro mit einem labyrinthischen Gefüge aus kleinen Arbeits-
zellen. Die Architekten von Masquespacio übertrugen diese Filmsequenz in die Räum-
lichkeiten sowie die Namens- und Farbgebung des Cabinette Coworking Space. Ge-
dacht für die Kreativbranche soll dieser mit Klischees und Konventionen brechen. Die
Möblierung der Räume im retrofuturistischen Stil stammt ebenfalls aus der Feder von
Masquespacio. Eigens für den Coworking-Bereich gestalteten die Architekten Tische
und Stühle und kombinierten diese mit silberglänzenden sowie farbigen Textilien und
verspiegelten Flächen. Im Kontrast zur geradlinigen Möblierung des Coworking-Bereichs
zieren die drei Meetingräume, die Küche und die Telefonkabinen verspielte Möbel mit
Fransendetails aus der Kollektion „sexy, lux and fun“ – entworfen in Kooperation mit
dem Möbelhersteller Houtique. So nehmen die Räume den Besucher mit auf eine Reise
– ob nun eine Reise in eine Zukunft, die an alte Zeiten erinnert, oder zurück in die
1960er-Jahre mit futuristischem Anklang, bleibt dem Betrachter selbst überlassen.

T he Cabinette Coworking Space was inspired by the film classic Playtime by
Jacques Tati from 1967, which back then was a humorous critic of the modernism
of the time. The film character Monsieur Hulot — played by Tati himself — wanders
through a futuristic-looking Paris and encounters a modern open-plan office with a la-
byrinthine array of small work cubicles. The architects at Masquespacio transferred
this film sequence to the premises and the naming and colour scheme of Cabinette Co-
working Space. Designed for the creative industry, this working environment is inten-
ded to break with clichés and conventions. The furnishing of the interiors in retro-fu-
turistic style was also designed by Masquespacio. The architects developed tables and
chairs especially for the coworking area and combined them with shiny silver and co-
loured textiles and mirrored surfaces. As a contrast to the straight-lined furnishing of
the coworking space, the three meeting rooms, the kitchen and the telephone booths
are adorned with playful furniture with fringe details from the "sexy, lux and fun" col-
lection — designed in collaboration with furniture manufacturer Houtique. The rooms
thus take visitors on a journey — whether it is a journey into a future reminiscent of old
times or back to the 1960s with a futuristic touch is up to them to decide.
