AIT 1/2.2025 Retail and presentation – Anything but mainstream!
Welcome to the year 2025! On the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of the armed conflict in Ukraine, we talked to active protagonists and were impressed by the commitment of the Art helps initiative and the more than brave attitude of Ukrainian interior designers/architects who told us about life and work in their home country. The external circumstances apparently cannot diminish the quality of their designs: Slava Balbek and Borys Dorogov from balbek bureau in Kiev/Kyiv have once again succeeded with the bridal fashion shop in Warsaw in creating a design that clearly stands out from conventional shopfitting ideas in its design statement ‘stone versus textile’. This also applies to all the other projects we have selected on the subject of ‘Sales and Presentation’: Stores in Berlin, Seoul, Paris, Budapest or Milan, as well as installations in Nuremberg, Stockholm, Shanghai or Bangkok. In the AIT series ‘A weekend in … ’, Mark Jenewein from Love architecture in Graz provides a knowledgeable and entertaining tour of his hometown in Styria. In 2025, we want to delve deeper into the topic of ‘Women in Architecture’. Numerous events will take place in June, which we will announce and report on as they happen.
