F ür das National Maritime Museum – eines der weltweit größten
Schifffahrtsmuseen – hat das Lon doner Designbüro Plaid in Zu sam -
menarbeit mit Stefi Orazi Studio ei ne Fläche von 450 Qua drat me tern
zu einem Schulungs be reich mit gro ßem Museumsshop ausgebaut. Die
Gestaltung des Innenraums ist ganz darauf ausgerichtet, den Be sucher
interaktiv an der Ausstellung teil haben zu lassen: Grafische Leucht -
kästen, Schilder und farbenfrohe, mobile Mö bel laden dazu ein, den
Raum fle xi bel zu bespielen. Die charakteristische Dreiecksform der
Sitzmöbel fin det sich in den gewebten Vinylbodenbelägen von Bolon
wieder. Mit ihren designorientierten Belägen reizt das schwedische
Familien un ter nehmen die Grenzen der eher kon ser vativ geprägten
Branche aus. Bei der Produktserie Botanic, aus der die beiden hier
kom binierten Ausführungen Cilia und Viva stam men, diente die orga -
ni sche Struktur der Pflanzenwelt als Inspira ti ons quelle. Die Farb pa let -
te aus gedämpften Erdtönen und leuchtenden Akzenten in Gelb und
Grün weckt ebenso wie die spürbare textile Haptik des aus zweifarbi-
gem Garn gewebten Bodenbelags diesbezügliche As so ziationen. Ne-
ben der Triangle-Edition ist Botanic in fünf weiteren Ausführungen und
unterschiedlichen Größen erhältlich. Durch die variable Anordnung
der streng geometrischen Formen entstehen verspielte Muster, die sich
je nach Farbwahl dezent zurücknehmen oder als ei gen ständiges Ge -
stal tungsmerkmal in den Vordergrund treten. kb

of the interior is completely aimed at making the visitor interactively
participate in the exhibition: Graphic illumnated boxes, signs and
colourful mobile furniture invite to flexibly use the space. The
characteristic triangular shape of the seating furniture is again
encountered in the woven vinyl floorcovering by Bolon. With its
design-oriented flooring, the Swedish family-run company goes to
the limits of the rather conservative industry. For the Botanic product
series, of which the two here combined versions Cilia and Viva
are part, the organic structure of the plant world was the source of
inspiration. The colour palette of muted earth tones and bright
accents in yellow and green awakens associations to flora as do the
textile haptics of the floorcovering woven of two-coloured yarns. In
addition to the triangle edition, Botanic is available in five more ver-
sion and different dimensions. By varying the arrangement of the
strictly geometrical forms, playful patterns are produced which,
depending on the choice of colour, are rather subdued or come to the
