Zwischen dem Bau der Stuttgarter Weißenhofsiedlung und der
Machtergreifung der Nationalsozialisten entstand 1929 unweit von
Urach ein erstaunlich modernes Gebäude, das die Zeitläufe gut
überstanden hat. Geplant als Erholungsheim für kaufmännische
Angestellte, gibt sich der vierteilige, von Adolf Gustav Schneck
entworfene Bau betont schlicht. 64 kleine, funktionale Apartments
und eine breite Sonnenterrasse bieten wunderbare Ausblicke auf die
Schwäbische Alb. Alles strebt nach Licht, Luft und Sonne.

dern building was constructed close to Urach in 1929 which has suc-
cessfully weathered the course of time. Planned as a rest home for
commercial employees, the four-part building designed by Adolf Gus-
tav Schneck looks deliberately unpretentious. 64 small, functionally
equipped apartments and a wide sun terrace offer magnificent views
of the Swabian Alb. Everything strives towards light, air and sun.
